Selina is a hotel chain well-known in Latin America and now globally for being a place for young culture, entrepreneurs, backpackers, art and fun, offering a place to stay but also a hundred activities for visitors and locals to explore the city, the culture, the food, the party, and every possible cool thing to do in a city.
This location, in Bogota city, the capital of Colombia and a very innovative city, we had the challenge of renovating a 8 level building that was a business hotel once.
The design was influenced by the history of the industrial neighborhood and also the young movement happening around educative institutions and other hotels and co-working spaces in the area, reusing, recycling and re-purposing the existing furniture inside the hotel.
We worked with amazing local creative talents, artists, makers, architects, product designers and carpenters that always worked with the purpose of being sustainable, recycle and reuse.
Inside Selina Hotel we designed a big open reception, a retail space, a co-working space, a common kitchen, a movie theater, a library, a yoga room, and 5 typologies of rooms for the guests.
